Is your decision Godly…well maybe….but is it wise???

I think deeply about things I hear, especially when wise people are speaking. People I trust and respect the most, will always get the most amount of depth of thought about what they say.

Yesterday, I heard my doctor speak about decision making. It was very interesting, very challenging.

Although, I could see that people with certain personalities – like narcissists – would not understand what she was saying with any depth. It would have gone ‘whoosh’ straight over their heads.

To hear her say, is your decision wise and how do you know?

Distorted cognitive thinking – everyone can have this. Not just complex trauma survivors, or those with PTSD.

I was talking with a good friend of mine today and we were sharing examples of how we have assumed that some of our thinking patterns ‘must’ be because we are complex trauma survivors, but actually everyone can have distorted cognitive thinking.

This was something my doctor talked about at the convention I went to yesterday as well.

Distorted cognitive thinking, is absolutely not just for people with PTSD, or any other diagnosed mental health disorder.

I know people who have distorted cognitive thinking, and yet they consider themselves to be very mental stable and strong and actually have no insight into their issues, which is actually poor mental health and poor capacity to change. Continue reading
