Healing From Complex Trauma & PTSD/CPTSD

A journey to healing from complex trauma.

‘It was like watching a show’

Interesting little conversation occurred.

I have massage therapy and my massage therapist happens to be a Christian and a very strong one too.

She went a few times to the Church I used to attend (where I was spiritually abused).

I haven’t told her about what happened, but just said we had moved Church’s, as we had outgrown the other Church.

She said – I wouldn’t have said anything if you were still going there, but we didn’t get a good vibe there at all, and it was like watching a show, they didn’t seem humble. And then told me the difference in how her pastors at her Church act.

Which was so interesting that she said that, because that’s what narcs in pastoral positions do – put on a show and it’s ‘all about them’. Not about Jesus.

I just smiled and didn’t say anything, but inside I was thinking, yes, I am not the only person who can see through these people.

It felt like I was being reminded again, I am correct in my understanding of these people and I continue to get support about that. Thank you God!

Our new Church is lovely though and we have settled in quickly and they are very lovely, kind, humble people.

I am very aware there are abusive Church’s, but I believe there are many more who do wonderful work and are devoted to being who Christ wants us to be and we will be, if we are Christians.

God is good!

Author: Healing From Complex Trauma & PTSD/CPTSD

I am a survivor of complex and multiple trauma and abuse, who at the age of 40, began my healing journey. I am using my journey to recovery and healing, to help others, to help survivors feel less alone, validated, encouraged and to enable others to understand themselves more. Complex trauma, particularly from severe, prolonged childhood abuse, is profoundly life changing. Complex trauma produces complex adults. The journey to recovery is a painful, often lonely, emotional daily challenge and it is my aim to encourage others in their daily battle. ~ Lilly Hope Lucario
