I watched Joyce Myer the other day on the TV.
She is very engaging, very charming, funny – you know as narcissistic trait types – who love the limelight, can be.
At the end of her show, as always – she has a big promotion of all the DVD’s you can buy – to end up just like her. When you go in any Christian bookstore – there is whole section for Joyce.
I’ve only read one of her books, a few years ago – I got to the part of her wealth and I thought – this is not right….and then I did not know about prosperity teaching, and the sin of this – I worked this out by myself.
But, anyway back to Joyce – yay – if I listen to Joyce, I will get rich – because God will love me more and provide wealth for me to live in luxury…..so I must quickly order those DVD’s…
Yes, I am being sarcastic…..but seriously – why do so many ‘buy’ into this crap????
Prosperity teachers want you to know that apparently God rewards his favourite people, with lots of money, and only expects you to donate enough of that to ‘do your Christian duty’ – or at least ‘look like’ you are….
And the rest – his favourite people – get to keep and live in the lap of luxury.
There is so much wrong with this, that I would be here all day typing.
I have always maintained I couldn’t be a rich person, because I couldn’t live in luxury, knowing so many people in the world are starving and homeless.
It is amazing how people with entitled, egotistical, self serving, manipulative minds, can twist the Bible, to suit themselves and get rich in the process.
Did Jesus, live a wealthy, rich life?
Did God provide a rich, luxurious home and heaps of money for Jesus?
Did God provide any materialistic needs for Jesus?
Did God show us – when he came in human form – that wealth is important?
I rest my case.
Yes, I am being pretty sarcastic n this – but actually my heart is – that no-one be duped and manipulated by this crap.
This is false teaching – by wolves in sheeps clothing, who manipulate people.
Please, don’t buy into this – it is not of God.
