Christianity
You abuse children
Physical abuse
In the name of God
You say it’s God’s will
For me to belt you
You say it is God’s will
For me to whip you
You say it is God’s will
To take a paddle to you
What you are
Is child abusers
Christianity
You fail children
Child sexual abuse
From many adults
You ignore it
In the name of God
You condone it
In the name of God
You enable it
In the name of God
What you are
Is child abusers
Christianity
You fail children
You don’t protect them
You abuse them
Ignore them
Traumatise them
Hurt them
Make them suffer
Keep it a secret
In the name of God
What you are
Is child abusers
Christianity
You re-traumatise
These victims
With forced forgiveness
Forced compassion
For evil people
Who commit
Evil acts
That you condone
Make them question God
And often turn from God
What you are
Is abusers
Christianity
You fail victims
You lack compassion
You lack empathy
You lack humanity
You perpetuate abuse
Cycling down
Through generations
Each generation sick
Psychologically damaged
What you are
Is abusers
Christianity
You bleat
About compassion
You bleat
About mercy
You bleat
About love
Yet you show
So little yourselves
To children
To victims
To those abused
What you are
Is hypocrites
Christianity
It needed
The Royal Commission
To expose your
Evil ways
Your secrets
Your abuses
Your abusers
Your fake tears
Your fake apologies
Your reputation being paramount
Many more abusers
Still unknown
What you are
Is abusers
When you condone
And enable abuse
You enable evil
You enable Satan
You are as guilty
As the abusers
As evil
As the abusers
And as responsible
As the abusers
What you are
Is hypocritical
Weak
Sick
Twisted
Abusers
This is obviously meant for all those who are involved in this, which in my experience and research, is way more than is generally known.
I haven’t even highlighted within this poem, all the others kinds of abuse – spiritual abuse. Abuse by forcing women not to leave abusive marriages. Domestic violence, oppressing women, making women feel like second class citizens, and much more.
Anyone, and everyone, involved in this, condoning this, ignoring this, is guilt of being part of it.
Evil continues, because ‘people’ allow it.
Am I angry about this, yes I am – for every victim and there are so many.

Reblogged this on Healing From Complex Trauma & PTSD/CPTSD and commented:
This poem does not comply to ‘real’ Christians, because they don’t abuse.
This is about all the church people, who use God, as an excuse to abuse.

I heartily agree with this… One thing I’ve realized is … If one has not fully experienced the dramatic, traumatic effects of abuse … they cannot even begin to fathom, therefore cannot begin to contemplate, and therefore help in a constructive real way. This is not an excuse for their reaction, just an observation that’s abhorrent to the victim and should be seriously considered by society. The fact that not having the experience renders many useless as helpers with even the most innocent and best of intentions is a great tragedy. I still believe its possible to remedy by being aware of this.
