People who have a vestige interest/loyalty outside of your needs, will not be acting in your interests.

Whenever their loyalty lies greater elsewhere, whether that be their own ego, their own shame, their reputation, they will lose in some way, they will encounter issues they do not wish to deal with, they will be disliked by others, it will cost them money, you no longer serve their needs, it will be uncomfortable for them etc…

They will find a way, to not be acting for your needs.

It doesn’t leave many people who would be willing to be there for you, in a real way.

In fact, it leaves very few.

 
I have learned this, so many times in my life.

And this is why, we need to be our own best friend, who will be the one person who never lets us down.
