Healing From Complex Trauma & PTSD/CPTSD

A journey to healing from complex trauma.

Amazing TED talk about compassion.

I’ve always known that when people do things for others….to feel good about themselves….this is narcissism, and nothing to do with empathy, compassion, or altruism.

I’ve seen many people ‘doing good’ for others…..but really it is for themselves.

They won’t admit that of course.

Empathy is rare.

I’m always glad when my psychology understanding, is validated by professionals.

I am a survivor of complex and multiple trauma and abuse, who at the age of 40, began my healing journey. I am using my journey to recovery and healing, to help others, to help survivors feel less alone, validated, encouraged and to enable others to understand themselves more. Complex trauma, particularly from severe, prolonged childhood abuse, is profoundly life changing. Complex trauma produces complex adults. The journey to recovery is a painful, often lonely, emotional daily challenge and it is my aim to encourage others in their daily battle. ~ Lilly Hope Lucario

  1. I was thinking about this yesterday.

Thats where I see most peoples motivation – only if its going to affect them negatively, will they help until the threat to their ego has past, then it will be business as usual.

Empathic people are rare, and seen as dysfunctional or weak by wider society – until people suddenly need a listening ear of course 🙂
