Healing From Complex Trauma & PTSD/CPTSD

A journey to healing from complex trauma.

Hives are just getting worse and worse.

I decided I was going to do some gardening today…. in the shade, at a table, so not to hurt my back as I wouldn’t need to be bending down.

I am now covered in hives from head to feet. I am glad I have my husband to see this and even he realises there is something wrong with me.

I’ve never had hives in the past, even when doing heavy duty exercising and even the worst of the Queensland humidity.

But, over the last year they have been getting worse and worse, to the point where no matter what little activity I do, no matter how minor my anxiety is, I am getting hives.

I know there is something wrong with me, because this is not remotely normal.

My doctor said I have increased levels of something in my blood test results for allergies, but I have no idea what I am allergic too. And why would I suddenly develop allergies? And the hives come out due to any physical activity and any level of stress, not due to food etc.

I realise there is something wrong somewhere, and I need to get to the bottom of what is causing it.

I am a survivor of complex and multiple trauma and abuse, who at the age of 40, began my healing journey. I am using my journey to recovery and healing, to help others, to help survivors feel less alone, validated, encouraged and to enable others to understand themselves more. Complex trauma, particularly from severe, prolonged childhood abuse, is profoundly life changing. Complex trauma produces complex adults. The journey to recovery is a painful, often lonely, emotional daily challenge and it is my aim to encourage others in their daily battle. ~ Lilly Hope Lucario

  1. I hope your hives are better. I got hives several times recently as a detox reaction to going on the candida diet. In my case it was toxins leaving my body through the skin and drinking extra water helped it go away. Perhaps you have candidiasis from too many antibiotics in the past?–regular doctors are not taught about this in med school ( Google it)– a naturopath or even a health food store can help you figure out the source. Or it could be an environment allergy. Hope you find relief soon. 😊 Lovely blog!

  2. At five yrs old I was loved and happy. Then it all changed. Living with my moms mom.. Then to mom and stepdad. Back to moms mom. Then my dads mom. Beatings were a regular routine. I learned structure..a roof over my head..food. Churched. My dads visits..at first were good. Then a little older..changed. Not as bad as what Joyce Meyer went through..made bad grades..couldnt focus..terrifyed.. Fear panic attacks. Rebellion. Then to my dads and stepmom.. Always fighting.. Running from him..when she wasnt there.. Dated.. Someone… Drugs and alcohol. Tried to get away.. My dad decides I should marry him. Just more abuse..married another man…a guard at a penetiary.. Just screwed…got out of that. 3 kids… Loved. Worked hard.. But ive never been ok with intimacy.. Married now..my baggage and his and another son. 1st son in prison. 2nd son married with family and saved..daughter dies at 34..leaves 2 boys with dad. A baby girl given up for adoption who I will never know. 4th son…ap student and athlete ..college. Works stays home and his dad and him are close. I took care of my kids… Worked driving a school bus for 25 years… But I am the heavy.. Can’t talk.. Silenced.. Now retired. And my life’s work ..was not what I expected..my husband works..no hitting.. No alcohol or drugs. But there is more. But I am looking at me. I am having panic attacks .. Or dissassociate.. Constant mentally focused.. Where there is no vision the people perish.. Hard going out the door. It was ok on bus. Discover who I am.. Love my inner child.. Listen some to music.. Dr. Apps. To make. Clean. Shut down..

  3. I’ve gotten hives from potting soil & garden fertilizer.

Maybe some type of plants, flowers or gardening spray, fertilizer etc that you are in contact with while gardening is causing you hives.
