I’m proud of my heart…. it’s been through so much.

To come through such severe abuse, especially throughout childhood, and yet be a compassionate, empathic person –Β capable of the kind of love we were never shown… is amazing.

I am a survivor of complex and multiple trauma and abuse, who at the age of 40, began my healing journey. I am using my journey to recovery and healing, to help others, to help survivors feel less alone, validated, encouraged and to enable others to understand themselves more. Complex trauma, particularly from severe, prolonged childhood abuse, is profoundly life changing. Complex trauma produces complex adults. The journey to recovery is a painful, often lonely, emotional daily challenge and it is my aim to encourage others in their daily battle. ~ Lilly Hope Lucario

  1. I can relate except that I feel very guilty for all the anguish and heart ache my wife and son have gone through with me. You and I were born innocent and yet trying to heal from the horrific abuses of my childhood has taken its toll. I have lost all friends and extended family in the process and all I have left are my son and my wife. Never thought that stigma would be so prevalent and I wish more people had empathy and compassion for those of us who have suffered a great deal with the neurological disorders that for so many come with CPTSD. I wish all of us peace.
