I am a survivor of complex and multiple trauma and abuse, who at the age of 40, began my healing journey. I am using my journey to recovery and healing, to help others, to help survivors feel less alone, validated, encouraged and to enable others to understand themselves more. Complex trauma, particularly from severe, prolonged childhood abuse, is profoundly life changing. Complex trauma produces complex adults. The journey to recovery is a painful, often lonely, emotional daily challenge and it is my aim to encourage others in their daily battle. ~ Lilly Hope Lucario

  1. I hate when people say that: “Everything Happens for A reason” bullshit. & “You’ll be better off…..” Stupid phrases uttered by lazy people afraid to face the true nature of life.

    • I agree. I find most quotes are lacking in depth, lacking in empathy, lacking in truth. People seem to be soothed by them and they can often play into someone’s belief system. But, I am a truth seeker and those of us who can see through these platitudes, find them irritating and useless.

  3. Another one that really bites when someone you love dies “well at least you know she or he is in a better place”, and exactly how in the hell does that validate me or help me in my grieving and how do you know that anyway?

    • There are countless platitudes, that only ever soothe, the shallow thinking mind.

      I see them everywhere.

They don’t help those with deeper thinking/processing capacity.

And they can be very invalidating to those of us with deeper intelligence/emotional intelligence.
