Healing From Complex Trauma & PTSD/CPTSD

A journey to healing from complex trauma.

People’s entitlement to uneducated, ignorant, hurtful opinions.

I am venting.

I get very frustrated by ‘opinions’ about serious matters, I see clearly lead to harm caused to people. Especially when children are being harmed.

They say everyone is entitled to an opinion. Sounds great, except for all the opinions based upon a foundation of ignorance, a lack of education about the issue and a lack of empathy.

No good comes from this.

There are also those who demand their ‘right to an opinion’, or to ‘tell the truth’ – purely with the motivation behind it, of hurting people.

Again, no good comes from this.

Both of these, irritate me. Because they cause harm. And I care about the harm being caused. I don’t want people harmed.

Should I care as much as I do. No. But, I do.

So I have to vent, and here on my blog, is a safe place to do that.

I am a survivor of complex and multiple trauma and abuse, who at the age of 40, began my healing journey. I am using my journey to recovery and healing, to help others, to help survivors feel less alone, validated, encouraged and to enable others to understand themselves more. Complex trauma, particularly from severe, prolonged childhood abuse, is profoundly life changing. Complex trauma produces complex adults. The journey to recovery is a painful, often lonely, emotional daily challenge and it is my aim to encourage others in their daily battle.

  2. Having a motivation to hurt someone on purpose is downright shitty. I tend to share my experiences with an intent to connect. I love exchanging and hearing other perspectives. I find that the times my sharing was not accepted, I was accused of having ill intent. I think sometimes that is used as a scapegoat to cover up the real truth, which is that a nerve was hit.

But in the end, I agree all the way around, that shitty intent is just that… Shitty.
