Healing From Complex Trauma & PTSD/CPTSD

A journey to healing from complex trauma.

This is how psychopaths, even dupe mental health professionals.

Psychopaths, can be very intelligent. The intelligent ones, can fake empathy, fake emotions, fake emotional reactions. But, actually they have no capacity for empathy. Neuroscience shows the lack of empathy capacity, via brain imaging scans.

It can be very difficult even for mental health professionals, to discern an intelligent psychopath. And many are duped by them. Even one of the world’s leading psychopaths experts – Dr. Robert Hare – admits he has been duped by them. Any mental health professional, who believes they will not be duped by them, are very naïve and clearly lack knowledge about psychopaths.

So, if experts, mental health professionals, can be duped and manipulated by psychopaths, please know the victims are easily duped too.

There are many psychopaths amongst us. Some experts estimate 1 in 25 people, is a fully fledged psychopath.

Most are not serial killers, or serial rapists. As is often wrongly assumed. Most are living amongst us all, totally undetected. They love careers like politics, business CEO’s, lawyers, church ministers, police officers, journalists. They see people as objects to be used and abused and are often attracted to careers where their traits can be exposed, and are acceptable. They love power and control.

Psychopaths are ruthless, highly manipulative, can fake all emotions, lack remorse, conscience, empathy, guilt, shame and have no regard for human suffering.

They will do anything they want, to succeed and get what they want. Anything.

They are morally bankrupt beings.

Some of them are sexual psychopaths. These are more likely to be your rapists, domestic violence abusers, paedophiles, sex offenders.

Some psychopaths, are sadistic and relish and delight in causing suffering. They truly get off on it.

Some are considered intelligent, some are considered unintelligent psychopaths.

The difference with intelligent psychopaths – is they are successful at what they do, know how to keep themselves out of prison. They are labelled ‘successful psychopaths’.

Unintelligent psychopaths, languish in many prisons worldwide.

Sadly, I know a lot about psychopaths. Within the first 20 years of my life, I survived a sadistic, sexual psychopath. I survived a psychopath paedophile. They were absolutely psychopaths. Sexual psychopaths.

My step father was far up that continuum and my mother too. Where they overlap as narcissists or sociopaths, I am not entirely sure. The symptoms/criteria, are similar in many ways.

These types of people make my skin crawl. They are truly terrible, heinous beings.

They cause so much suffering, and yet have no remorse, no guilt, no conscience.

And anyone who believes they don’t understand what they do is wrong, or they are ‘delusional’, or ‘dissociated’ ………. has never experienced one, or is making excuses, to make them seem less heinous.

People make all sorts of assumptions, to cope with heinous human beings more easily.

I don’t. I deal with truth.

This is an interesting article

Author: Healing From Complex Trauma & PTSD/CPTSD

I am a survivor of complex and multiple trauma and abuse, who at the age of 40, began my healing journey. I am using my journey to recovery and healing, to help others, to help survivors feel less alone, validated, encouraged and to enable others to understand themselves more. Complex trauma, particularly from severe, prolonged childhood abuse, is profoundly life changing. Complex trauma produces complex adults. The journey to recovery is a painful, often lonely, emotional daily challenge and it is my aim to encourage others in their daily battle. ~ Lilly Hope Lucario

  1. thank you for writing another article about my sister. She took funds from my business account ( auto withdral ) with telling me. Husbands life ins policy $20,000. Health insurance $9,000. Utility payments $15,000.

  2. When I read your blog and writings, I pretend I am taking an educational class ! Thank you !

  3. Excellent information, Lilly! If the world’s leading experts can be duped by these morally bankrupt individuals, anyone can. Victim-blaming and shaming needs to stop. Compassion for victims needs to begin. Thank you for writing this. ❤

  4. The sociopath I have been mixed up with (yoga teacher “guru” from Santa Monica) just hooked up with a psychologist and she’s pregnant now! They have dated less than a year. His wife divorced him (he cheated on her) not too long ago and they have 3 kids. Funny thing is I heard him say plenty of times that he wanted 4 kids and his wife didn’t want more kids! I guess he found use for his new girlfriend! I noticed she was trying so hard to play mom to his kids and please him. She is totally naive, just came into Santa Monica after completing her degree at age 40! . I didn’t realize his true nature until this past summer nor did I know about his marital infidelity. Started seeing the red flags a long time ago and I finally experienced his Jekyll and Hyde nature this year. I feel sorry for her because she doesn’t realize he toys with women in class. He’s sneaky about it and it only takes someone who has known him long enough to put it all together.

  5. Greetings,

You make several solid points. Let me re-emphasize two.

The most renowned expert on narcissism worldwide is not a behavioral scientist. He is a level 9 narcissist by the name of Sam Vaknin that is a former stock broker.

He makes several of your points.

First, Narcissists often score higher on tests than the general public as far as tests go in determining his or her mental state or pathology. The best people to go to for spotting a narcissist are an educated former target / victim.

Sam Vaknin is great source. He has several You Tube sites and gives you classes in 7 to 10 minute lessons. But be advised, don’t watch too many of them in succession. It can really affect your mental state especially if you are a current target or recovering target. My family and I found him a great resource and invaluable in setting up a strategy to deal with two separate narcissists.

The Second Point is where Narcissists dwell. They gravitate to professions that have lot’s of “people” as a source of “Narcissist Supply” where they have control/authority with little accountability. Areas like Military, Mental Health professionals, Corrections, Ministry, police, corporate hierarchies, political machines. Etc…

Note I said Mental Health (Psychologists) and Ministry. The folk you trust the most, may be source of your worst nightmare.

If you are a target, you know that you are engaged in a battle that you were never prepared for and that will change your life forever. Educate yourselves. Learn how to document. And if you were a former target, educate yourself on what happened to you and help a person going through it. You may be the only person that person can depend on and you know how what you went through.

    Bless you.
