I’ve learned to go with my emotions, emotional flashbacks. Rather than suppress them. I also know to not stay there long. But, it helps to just feel it. My past has made me who I am, and I honour each part of my journey. Rather than feel ashamed of it.
This song reminds me of being 16.
This song reminds me of my hurt inner child. And how I feel right now.
I am a survivor of complex and multiple trauma and abuse, who at the age of 40, began my healing journey.
I am using my journey to recovery and healing, to help others, to help survivors feel less alone, validated, encouraged and to enable others to understand themselves more.
Complex trauma, particularly from severe, prolonged childhood abuse, is profoundly life changing.
Complex trauma produces complex adults.
The journey to recovery is a painful, often lonely, emotional daily challenge and it is my aim to encourage others in their daily battle.

Hi, I am experiencing quite a lot of emotional flashbacks at the moment. I am still learning just to sit with the emotions and thoughts and not to fight them. Here is a post I recently wrote about flashbacks and panic attacks. I would love to hear your opinion on it! I like listening to music, when I go through this, and I have c-ptsd so i probably do at least once a day maybe more, I like just writing what I am feeling, it helps me to try to write it.

TY and yes, I have learned to just sit with the emotions and not fight them, not try to suppress, avoid them.
