Healing From Complex Trauma & PTSD/CPTSD

A journey to healing from complex trauma.

Suppressing trauma & emotions, causes greater issues long term

This is why so many complex trauma survivors have physical illness issues. Complex trauma survivors commonly also suffer Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Chronic Pain, Adrenal Fatigue, plus many other physical illness.

Many of us who suppressed the trauma and needed emotions, have long term health issues.

This combined with the affect the trauma itself has on the survivor – physically, emotionally, psychologically, can be very severe.

This requires compassion.

And why I strongly advise people to ignore any advice that involves avoidance of trauma – as is commonly expressed by new age attitudes, and many religious attitudes.

Avoidance, suppression of trauma and the needed emotions about it – is never healthy long term.

Author: Healing From Complex Trauma & PTSD/CPTSD

I am a survivor of complex and multiple trauma and abuse, who at the age of 40, began my healing journey. I am using my journey to recovery and healing, to help others, to help survivors feel less alone, validated, encouraged and to enable others to understand themselves more. Complex trauma, particularly from severe, prolonged childhood abuse, is profoundly life changing. Complex trauma produces complex adults. The journey to recovery is a painful, often lonely, emotional daily challenge and it is my aim to encourage others in their daily battle. ~ Lilly Hope Lucario
