Healing From Complex Trauma & PTSD/CPTSD

A journey to healing from complex trauma.

So ready to learn all I can about photography :)

I am excited to start a new career, that will be my own business, and I can work it around my health, my children, my husbands shifts.

I am booked on a crash course – at beginning of December – in how to use a DSLR camera, and I can’t wait. I’m reading all I can and have ‘exposure’, ‘aperture’ and ‘ISO’ spinning round in my head. Then I will progress to more courses next year, to learn all I can.

Buying my new super doper camera this week, and I have no doubt I will become obsessed with it and drive my family nuts, making them pose for practice shoots.

I think this will be a new challenge for me, a new focus which is about nice, lovely, healthy, fun times, where I can also make some money in the future.

YouTube has become my new latest best friend, because everything to do with photography can be found there. And I’m a research girl…. if something is important to me – I can be guaranteed, to find out as much as possible.

I always will be asking some photographers, is I can tag along to some shoots, to simply watch and observe all they do. And how they set it all up and interact with the clients.

I think photography, will suit my personality, as I am creative, I know how to run a small business, and I know how to interact with babies, children and adults, having previously run a successful child care business.

I can’t wait to buy my camera!

And I’ve already set my photography blog up, as blogging is kinda my thing too!

Author: Healing From Complex Trauma & PTSD/CPTSD

I am a survivor of complex and multiple trauma and abuse, who at the age of 40, began my healing journey. I am using my journey to recovery and healing, to help others, to help survivors feel less alone, validated, encouraged and to enable others to understand themselves more. Complex trauma, particularly from severe, prolonged childhood abuse, is profoundly life changing. Complex trauma produces complex adults. The journey to recovery is a painful, often lonely, emotional daily challenge and it is my aim to encourage others in their daily battle. ~ Lilly Hope Lucario

  1. I am so glad I have found your blog which is an amazing resource of sincere truthful power. You have inspired me and gave hope . I started to believe that none can understand what is happening to me and then you came along . Thank you for that .

  2. This is a terrific idea. I know another survivor who uses photography to cope and use as therapy in BC Canada. He virtually has no offline help, so he has hobbies to keep himself busy. I know you are tenacious enough to do well too Lily.

  3. I want to start by saying that I wish you all the luck in the world, Lilly.
However, this post is bittersweet for me to read. It reminds me of myself about 10 years ago, thinking of getting into the photography program at my college. I had it all planned out. But, I had gotten involved with someone romantically, and I got distracted with wedding planning (and ignoring those red flags!!) I decided I had to drop out to plan it all and then go back the next year. I never went back. My ideals on college education have changed as well.
Basically all the dreams I had have evaporated and I am just a shell of the person I used to be. I still have so much work to do.
But reading your excitement at this new chapter of your life, it makes me so happy for you. It (and the rest of your blog) gives me a tiny glimmer of hope, and I want to thank you for that.

    • I am so sorry your plans for photography did not go as planned. I do understand how there are times in our life, when simply surviving each day, is incredibly hard, and all we can focus on.

I would like to think, maybe you could pursue photography again in the future. I truly hope you heal in your own needed time, for your own self – because you deserve that. And also so you can have some goals and dreams you can start to achieve.

      Lilly ❤

  4. I’m happy for you! You’re going to learn so many amazing things. After my photography diploma, I’m still learning new things all the time. It’s a lifelong learning process, and an AMAZING one at that. I hightly recommend Michael Freeman’s books. 😉

    • Thank you!

I am so glad you also decided to learn photography and I think it is such a creative outlet, plus it gives us something really lovely to learn and focus on.

I am hoping to set up a business, once I know what I am doing.

I’m really looking forward to starting learning all the technical side, and the editing process.

      Good times ahead!

      Lilly ❤
