Healing From Complex Trauma & PTSD/CPTSD

A journey to healing from complex trauma.

I couldn’t be his Wonderwall

This was one of my ex husband’s special songs for us. I know he wanted to be saved from his addictions. But, I couldn’t save him. I tried. Really hard.

Maybe I should have tried harder.

I am a survivor of complex and multiple trauma and abuse, who at the age of 40, began my healing journey. I am using my journey to recovery and healing, to help others, to help survivors feel less alone, validated, encouraged and to enable others to understand themselves more. Complex trauma, particularly from severe, prolonged childhood abuse, is profoundly life changing. Complex trauma produces complex adults. The journey to recovery is a painful, often lonely, emotional daily challenge and it is my aim to encourage others in their daily battle. ~ Lilly Hope Lucario

  1. I understand you thought you should have tried harder to save him, but you did all you could and you should be proud of that! My sister was married to an addict and she couldn’t either, and she tried for years as well…he just couldn’t, even if he wanted to quit. So know in your heart you did everything you could and then some ❤

  2. Your feelings come from the love you two shared. Your grief is your journey and although we can not change anyone or save anyone who does not want too, you still have the memories you are even strong enough to share with all of us. Your thoughts and truth are inspiring. Thank you for that, my condolences.
