Healing From Complex Trauma & PTSD/CPTSD

A journey to healing from complex trauma.

Making a YouTube video for my website.

I am continually tweaking my website, adding new info, updating.

Website @ http://www.healingfromcomplextraumaandptsd.com/

I’m wanting to add a YouTube video and will be creating that over the next week. I want to add quotes, pics and some nice relaxing music.

So, thinking about all I wish to add to it.

My website shared by another mental health professional, as a main feature.

My Website has been shared today, as a main feature on a website by Valesca Cosci – Psychotherapist and Social Worker.

I am so thankful my info is getting out there, helping many, helping professionals and is valued.

My Website is @ http://www.healingfromcomplextraumaandptsd.com/

My new LOGO to tie all my different media/sites outlets together :)

I wanted something simple that would appeal to all.

And it’s my favourite two colours – aqua/turquoise and purple.

It is amazing that the PTSD awareness support ribbon, is this turquoise colour, so that worked out well.

Now everything is being changed to add this ūüôā

It looks good on the Website @ http://www.healingfromcomplextraumaandptsd.com/

My Website, Blog, are a deep reflection of who I am.

My Website and Blog have been described as many things, all of which are a reflection of who I am, because they are my writing, from my heart. They are both continuing to evolve, grow, expand and this is a reflection of me too.

I have had mental health professionals describe them as;

Rare, unique, quality, passionate, engaged,

practical, clear, insightful, real, raw,

inspirational, encouraging, needed, vital,

wonderful, honest, educated, intelligent,

knowledgeable, wisdom, compassionate,

courageous, kindness, hopeful and

unusual depth of understanding

of a new and complex

field of psychology.

These are all a reflection of who I am. Because everything I author, write, express, is me. From my heart and soul.

So blessed with another amazing Website/Blog/Twitter Review from a Professional.

I am very blessed to receive such amazing reviews from mental health professionals.

To have professionals validate, encourage, commend and recommend my Website, authored by myself, is wonderful – for the visitors to the Website to know the info and insight is quality, and helps me, in my healing journey too.

Received this review today.

WEBSITE REVIEW:  healingfromcomplextraumaandptsd.wordpress.com

For: Lilly Hope Lucario ‚Äď September 2014

From: John Henden

This easy-to-navigate website is a great resource for those recovering from PTSD.¬† Created by Lilly Hope Lucario, a fellow survivor, her stated purpose is:¬† ‚Äú‚Ķ to assist people in their healing on their complex trauma journey; for those supporting someone they know; or wishing to educate themselves further about complex post-traumatic stress disorder & complex trauma.‚ÄĚ

The website is both informative and provides practical advice for survivors around symptom management, such that they can recover and live full and active lives.  By way of encouragement for survivors, there are many inspirational pictures and sayings:

‚ÄúSmooth seas never made a skilled sailor‚ÄĚ; and ‚ÄúEither you stay in the shallow end of the pool or you decide to go out into the ocean‚ÄĚ; and ‚ÄúNot all wounds are visible‚Ķ But just because they are unseen, does not make them less painful.‚Äú

As a survivor of complex trauma myself (having lived 8 of my 9 lives!), I have been working as a solution focused psychotherapist for survivors or post-traumatic stress and complex trauma for nearly 20 years.  I would have no hesitation in recommending this rare website to my clients and other specialist colleagues working in the field.

Lilly is an avid blogger, too, having received over a dozen blog awards and more than a quarter of a million hits to her blog site.  Her twitter account (@HealingCPTSD) plays a large role in the overall helping service she provides.  Both her blogs and her twitter feed can be accessed via this website. I have been a mental health advocate for 15 years. I am amazed at both the quality of information and the obvious passion and committtment shown at www.healingfromcomplextraumaandptsd.com/ to improving the lives of those living with PTSD.

The site covers everything from what is PTSD through complex PTSD and then delivers amazing clear, concise and powerful coping techniques that I am sure will benefit anyone who reads it. The social proof of the value and understanding shown on the site is evident in the massively engaged and supportive communities on Twitter & Facebook.

If you are living with PTSD or are supporting someone diagnosed with PTSD I strongly recommend you check out www.healingfromcomplextraumaandptsd.com/ ASAP.

Have a look around and a good read. I am 100% certain you will find yourself more educated and informed and better able to deal with all aspects of PTSD.

Curbing my obsession with tweaking my website….

I am someone who is an all or nothing, kind a woman. I know why, it’s all part of who I am due to my life.

It can have advantages, because I am capable of putting in a huge amount of effort into something I am passionate about and feel is needed.

It can have it’s disadvantages, because it takes over and becomes almost an obsession and I also use it as a very understandable means of avoiding the trauma/pain still not healed, still swirling around my PTSD brain/mind.

Is it avoidance, freeze or flight trauma response, perfectionism, bipolar type behaviours….yeah probably all of them. Possible stuff I don’t know too.

But, it is also completely understandable, for anyone dealing with such severe trauma processing and grieving.

As I keep reminding myself,

It’s not what is *wrong* with me…

It is about what *happened* to me

I now need to stop obsessing over my website, tweaking everything…

I have spent many, many hours over my website recently, uploading info, adding video’s, amending settings, trying to figure out techie stuff that drives me nuts….simply because I am not good at it all. I was born in the 70’s….we didn’t have I.T., as they do now in school – in prep – as my¬†5 year old raves about every Wednesday.

I have learned about google SEO’s, H1 tags, search phrase density¬†and much more….all very new to me….and tweaked and tweaked and tweaked my website – far more¬†I’m sure, than¬†is necessary.

Who needs ‘Setting Up A Website For Dummies’ – when you can just obsess for hours and learn it all by trial and error!

The worst part, is everything I change, often throws the entire website out and then I have to go and change every page Рand there are a lot of pages now!

Maybe, I do need the ‘For Dummies’ book…. after all…

But then, I never did give myself an easy time….hmmm…

I have been very surprised to know mental health professionals are wanting to give me great reviews and feedback, so that is amazing. And I am so thankful for them, being prepared to supply that. Continue reading
